According to a<a href="https://www.nrn.com/quick-service/mcdonald-s-slows-pace-remodels-amid-reports-franchisee-tension?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=mcdonalds-extends-deadline-for-remodels-in-response-to-tension-amongst-franchisees-2708563" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration:none" target="_blank"> recent article in Nation&#39;s Restaurant News</a>, this follows pushback that the company received from its operators that the original pace for adopting the Experience of the Future model was unreasonably quick.

However, McDonald&rsquo;s will reward the franchisees who complete their remodel by the first deadline. Those who adopt the model by 2020 will have 55% of the cost covered by the brand, while those who wait will only have 40% of the funding covered. The remodel costs range from $160,000 to about $750,000.
