McDonald’s to Realign Global Executive Team
Following the retirement of its chief restaurant officer, the franchise will divide its global executive team into three divisions.
On December 31, McDonald’s chief restaurant officer Doug Goare will retire after 40 years with the iconic franchise brand. According to an article in Nation’s Restaurant News, McDonald’s will be restructuring it’s global executive team following Goare’s departure.
The new structure will have three divisions: U.S., International Operated Markets, and International Development Licensed Markets.
The U.S. division, which oversees both corporate- and franchisee-owned locations throughout the U.S., will be led by Chris Kempczinski; the International Operated Markets division, which oversees corporate-owned international locations, will be led by Joe Erlinger; and the International Development Licensed Markets division, which oversees franchisee-owned international locations, will be led by Ian Borden.
“The organization we created as we were beginning our turnaround in 2015 helped us make decisions more quickly, act with greater agility and strengthen the performance of our markets,” McDonald’s CEO Steve Easterbrook said in a statement. “This new organizational structure provides us the opportunity to continue building on our progress, making sure McDonald’s remains positioned to run great restaurants and better serve our customers.”
