The National Restaurant Association, of which McDonald&rsquo;s remains a member, has lobbied against wage increases in at least 30 states, according to <a href="https://www.politico.com/story/2019/03/26/mcdonalds-lobbying-minimum-wage-1238284?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=mcdonalds-will-no-longer-lobby-against-raising-minimum-wage-2709545" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Politico</a>. &ldquo;The conversation about wages is an important one; it&rsquo;s one we wish to advance, not impede,&rdquo; Genna Gent, McDonald&rsquo;s vice president of U.S. government relations, wrote, adding that McDonald&rsquo;s believes wage increases &ldquo;should be phased in and that all industries should be treated the same way.&rdquo; 

McDonald&rsquo;s stance is announced while the franchise remains embroiled in a National Labor Relations Board <a href="https://1851franchise.com/mcdonalds-and-u-s-labor-board-square-off-in-trial-3925" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">lawsuit</a> over alleged labor violations by franchisees, including punishing employees taking part in protests in favor of raising the minimum wage, according to Politico.
