Owner of One of Melting Pot’s Busiest Locations Shares His Journey to Restaurant Ownership on Rush to Reason Episode

During a segment on the radio show Rush to Reason, Anthony Wheeler gave host John Rush insight into how he came to own one of the most successful Melting Pot locations in the country.

Anthony Wheeler, a Melting Pot franchisee in Littleton, Colorado, joined John Rush on the radio show Rush to Reason to discuss his journey from service manager to owning one of the fondue restaurant’s most successful locations in the country. During the interview, Wheeler shares how his path to ownership was far from planned. After earning a degree in English education, he worked in restaurants (including Melting Pot) to pay the bills, all while thinking his future lay outside the hospitality industry.

However, life took an unexpected turn when his mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Wheeler took time off to spend with her, traveling the country and making lasting memories. When he returned to Melting Pot, a former manager suggested he consider stepping into a leadership role. Although Wheeler was initially hesitant, he gave it a try — and immediately found his passion. He quickly discovered that managing a restaurant was more than just running operations; it was about impacting the lives of employees and customers.

Wheeler goes on to describe the unique dining experience the Melting Pot offers its customers. Unlike traditional restaurants, the Melting Pot's interactive, leisurely-paced meals allow diners to slow down, reconnect and truly enjoy the dining process. This attention to detail has made the Littleton location amongst the busiest Melting Pot in the U.S.

In addition to sharing his love for the restaurant’s concept, Wheeler also touches on the challenges of managing 140 employees and staying on top of evolving state regulations.
