Mike Gieseman Named Director of Culinary Innovation for Rego Restaurant Group

Denver-based restaurant group added new member to culinary team, set to introduce reinvigorated menus to major brands.

Former culinary consultant and Qdoba Restaurant corporation manager of research and development, Mike Gieseman, will be joining Rego Restaurant Group as their culinary innovation director.

Nation’s Restaurant News reported that Mark Lohmann, Rego chief brand officer, said, “As the leader of our culinary center of excellence, [Gieseman’s] consumer insights-driven methodology is a major competitive advantage for our portfolio of turnaround brands as we continue to drive a transformational agenda.”

Gieseman is excited to join Rego Restaurant Group, noting that his innovative creations come from careful awareness of understanding what menu items worked or didn’t work for various brands. He stated to Nation’s Restaurant News, “We don’t need to come up with some over-the-top, crazy concoction. Instead, our consumers want simple, back-to-basics recipes that meet their cravings.”

Gieseman has 11 years of experience with Qdoba Restaurant and is a highly anticipated acquisition for major Rego Restaurant Group brands like Quiznos and Taco Del Mar. For both aforementioned brands, Gieseman has already begun creating new menu items and looks forward to debuting them in the near future.
