Instead, an injury in Afghanistan forced him to rebuild his life from the ground up and eventually led him to a new mission: helping fellow veterans succeed in the civilian workforce. He rolled into a 6-foot ditch, tearing the rotator cuffs in both shoulders and injuring his ACL, repeating an injury from his high school football days.
