MOOYAH, a fast-casual chain specializing in “better burgers,” fries and shakes, announced a focused growth plan targeting Montana and Wyoming. The quickly expanding burger brand will add five restaurants and 125 jobs throughout Missoula and Great Falls, Montana, and Cheyenne, Wyoming, as the development plan unfolds. “We look forward to bringing better burgers to Montana and Wyoming and are confident that residents there will love the MOOYAH experience,” said Ardag Tachian, director of development for MOOYAH. “Missoula, Great Falls and Cheyenne are three cities with multiple economic drivers spurring growth, and MOOYAH’S casual, family-friendly concept is a great fit for these communities.” MOOYAH initially focused on opening a flagship location in Billings, Montana, prior to expanding throughout surrounding areas and states. This development strategy was first established in the Dallas market, where MOOYAH boasts 24 locations. The brand’s chief operating officer, Michael Mabry, noted that the targeted, individual-market development plan has led to recent growth milestones, including the 65th opening in the United States. MOOYAH operates in 16 states, and it plans to reach 75 domestic locations by the end of the year. The chain aims to end next year with 100 units open. “We are finding more and more fans of the brand every day,” Mabry said, adding that brand leaders want to make MOOYAH a household name throughout the West and Northwest. “MOOYAH began as a simple concept built around friendly people serving the freshest, most delicious burgers, fries and shakes available,” said Rich Hicks, MOOYAH’s co-founder and CEO. “As our brand continues to evolve, we are committed to keeping it simple, while still relevant, in order to appeal to guest’s individual tastes and favorites.” Additionally, its family-friendly environment helps MOOYAH stand out above its competition, officials said. “MOOYAH prides itself on being a family-friendly business, from the guests we serve to the franchisees who open restaurants with the goal of running them with people they consider family. We designed the restaurant concept with family in mind so everyone would feel welcome and comfortable,” Mabry said, noting that the restaurant chain continues to attract favorable media attention throughout the nation for its commitment to high-quality, first-to-market products, innovative social media tactics, and strong franchise growth.
