More than 10,000 Verizon employees have accepted buyouts, according to a CNBC report.

The buyout offer was first announced in September and eligible employees and managers will receive up to 60 weeks of salary, bonus and benefits depending on how long they’ve been with the company, according to the article. The article also stated that 44,000 employees across the Verizon system were offered buyouts.

"For those who were accepted, the coming weeks and months will be a transition,” Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg said in a message to employees, according to the CNBC article. “For the entire V Team, there will be opportunities to work differently as we prepare for the great things to come at Verizon.”
