El Pollo Loco has announced that it will be offering delivery to more than half of its locations. According to a recent Nation’s Restaurant News article, the company has partnered with DoorDash to bring its fire-grilled chicken to customers’ doorsteps. “Delivery has been a major focus for us as we continue to better connect with our customers and provide them with a high-quality, convenient and differentiated dining experience,” said Ed Valle, Chief Marketing Officer.

The brand is bringing on delivery services later than many of its competitors, including Chipotle, Taco Bell and Rubio’s Coastal Grill. Brands are starting to see delivery as a necessity with a new generation of diners. The NPD Group reports that delivery represents 1.7 billion foodservice visits each year and young adults represent 56 percent of those orders.
