Nation's Restaurant News: In battle for burger share, the Big Three make a comeback

The brands have begun to take back the market shares lost in recent years.

Despite rumors that recent growth by McDonald's may mean trouble for close competitors, some brands have reported similar growth. According to a recent article in Nation's Restaurant News, Burger King reported three percent growth in the second quarter, and Wendy's reported 3.2 percent growth. 

The success of these three chains may have lasting impacts on smaller brands. Sonic Corp. and Steak 'n Shake both reported a recent decline in sales. 

The growth of the Big Three comes after years of slowly losing market share to smaller chains. Through the use of delivery services, kiosk ordering and creative advertising strategies, the brands have begun to take back those shares.
