In a planned succession, Paul Murphy will be stepping down as chief executive officer and John Cappasola Jr. will be promoted to CEO at Del Taco Restaurants Inc., according to a <a href="http://www.nrn.com/people/john-cappasola-promoted-ceo-del-taco?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=nations-restaurant-news-john-cappasola-promoted-to-ceo-of-del-taco-12499" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">recent Nation&#39;s Restaurant News article</a>. Murphy will hand over his leadership responsibilities on July 7 to the current president and chief brand officer.

&ldquo;John is a dynamic, people-oriented brand leader who understands strategy and driving business results,&rdquo; said&nbsp;Lawrence Levy, chair of Del Taco&rsquo;s board.&nbsp;

Del Taco has had 14 consecutive quarters of same-store sales growth in the first quarter of the year with Murphy at the reigns and the company hopes to continue to stay at the top of the quick-service industry with Cappasola&nbsp;in his new role.
