After suffering from a data breach and financial losses last year, Noodles &amp; Company is looking to franchise in the near future. According to a <a href="http://www.nrn.com/operations/noodles-company-looks-franchising-future?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=nations-restaurant-news-noodles-company-looks-to-franchising-for-the-future-10286" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">recent Nation&rsquo;s Restaurant News article</a>, the brand currently has 455 locations with 73 franchised units, and is looking to close 55 underperforming locations in the first half of this year.

&ldquo;We&rsquo;re over 85-percent company owned,&rdquo; said Noodles &amp; Company interim CEO Dave Boennighausen. &ldquo;We expect franchise restaurants will occupy a larger proportion of our restaurant portfolio.&rdquo;

A typical Noodles &amp; Company restaurant produces just under $1.1 trillion in average unit volumes, while the restaurants that are being closed are generating $700,000. &nbsp;
