Axum Capital Partners has acquired a controlling stake in Back Yard Burgers, according to a <a href="http://www.nrn.com/mergers-acquisitions/axum-capital-partners-buys-back-yard-burgers?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=nations-restaurant-news-axum-capital-partners-buys-back-yard-burgers-2703278" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">recent Nation&rsquo;s Restaurant News article</a>. The 55-unit burger chain was previously owned by Pharos Capital Group, LLC and is hoping the recent deal will help increase its growth.

&ldquo;We&rsquo;re well on our way to becoming the market leader in our category, and we&rsquo;re thrilled to be working with Axum&rsquo;s experienced leadership team,&rdquo; said CEO David McDougall.

The Charlotte-based private equity firm targets businesses in the restaurant and education&nbsp;sectors that have less than $100 million in revenue.
