Nation's Restaurant News: Brews get their own prints charming

World of Beer takes steps to make their drinks more Instagramable for National Beer Day.

Taking a queue from coffeehouses, World of Beer is adding art to the top of their draughts for National Beer Day on Saturday, April 7. Nation's Restaurant News detailed that World of Beer will be utilizing a brew printer from Beer Ripple in order to inspire more social media sharing during the holiday.

“We are always looking for ways to deepen our relationship with our customers,” said Dave Reid, World of Beer chief operating officer, in a statement. “Our customers have grasped the ability to create their own content in beer,” Reid said. “And, in return, not only have we seen a positive impact on sales but also on our ability to engage with customers, many of whom are choosing to include WOB in their own social media posts.”

The machine costs about $3,000 with a $1,500 annual subscription and takes up an minimal counter space at 8.5-by-10.5-inch. Beer Ripple's device allows bartenders to write messaged or customers send personal images to be printed on their beers. Franchisors can take note of this move and take steps to create a more interactive experience in their stores or restaurants in order to encourage social media posting to further their digital reach.
