In 2017, Hector Muñoz took over as CMO of Church's Chicken after spending six years as CMO at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. Muñoz plans to release a new brand strategy in the fourth quarter that focuses on highlighting the franchise's heritage.

“It’s got a lot of rich history, and a lot of these assets have been dormant for the last 10, 15, 20 years,” he said. “So it’s my job now to revitalize that, be in a position to create a story and be able to articulate that moving forward in an effort to become relevant.”

Muñoz is looking forward to promoting the brand's culinary expertise by focusing on its innovative recipes including its spicy chicken, biscuits and bone-in chicken.
