According&nbsp;to a recent <a href="http://www.nrn.com/casual-dining/dineequity-changes-name-dine-brands-global?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=nations-restaurant-news-dineequity-changes-name-to-dine-brands-global-2705632" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Nations&#39; Restaurant News</a> article, the change reflects a transitional time within the company.&nbsp;

&ldquo;Our new company name reflects a shift in strategy and a values-based performance culture with greater autonomy and accountability at the brand level,&rdquo; &nbsp;said Stephen P. Joyce, CEO of Dine Brands in a release. &ldquo;We are focused on returning to a growth company and delivering strong returns to our shareholders.&rdquo;

In 2018, Dine Brands system-wide sales are expected to&nbsp;range from flat to three percent.&nbsp;Applebee&#39;s is planning a large international push, with an expectation of 10 to 15 new restaurants opening worldwide. IHOP&nbsp;will continue to develop restaurants&nbsp;across the world, with an expectation of 85 to 100 new restaurants in 2018.&nbsp;
