El Pollo Loco has announced that it will be offering delivery to more than half of its locations. According to a <a href="http://www.nrn.com/technology/el-pollo-loco-partners-doordash-expand-delivery-280-restaurants?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=nations-restaurant-news-el-pollo-loco-partners-with-doordash-to-expand-delivery-to-280-restaurants-2705835" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">recent Nation&rsquo;s Restaurant News article</a>, the company has partnered with DoorDash to bring its fire-grilled chicken to customers&rsquo; doorsteps. Either through the chain&rsquo;s website or its mobile app, customers can order delivery, but only through DoorDash for now.

&ldquo;Delivery has been a major focus for us as we&nbsp;continue to better connect with our customers and provide them with a high-quality, convenient and differentiated dining experience,&rdquo; said Ed Valle, Chief Marketing Officer.

The brand is bringing on delivery services later than many of its competitors, including Chipotle, Taco Bell and Rubio&rsquo;s Coastal Grill. Brands are starting to see delivery as a necessity with a new generation of diners. The NPD Group reports that delivery represents 1.7 billion foodservice visits each year and young adults represent 56 percent of those orders.
