According to a&nbsp;<a href="http://bit.ly/2GPJWw1?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=nations-restaurant-news-mcdonalds-and-nlrb-reach-settlement-in-joint-employer-case-2705969" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="color:rgb(17, 85, 204)" target="_blank">recent article in Nation&#39;s Restaurant News</a>, this argument has been settled but details have not been made public. Following the settlement, McDonald&#39;s reaffirmed that it is not a joint employer with franchisees.

&ldquo;The settlement allows our franchisees and their employees to move forward and resolves all matters without any admission of wrongdoing. Additionally, current and former franchisee employees involved in the proceedings are receiving&nbsp;long overdue satisfaction&nbsp;of their claims,&rdquo; the brand said.

While the settlement is in progress, it has not been officially put into effect. It comes after multiple years of struggle between McDonald&#39;s and the NLRB. While the brand is relieved to end the long-standing litigation, there are groups that oppose the settlement. Fight for $15 believes that McDonald&#39;s should take responsibility for unjust labor practices.
