Nation’s Restaurant News: McDonald’s Expands Fresh Beef Test

Fresh Quarter Pounders are coming to 75 locations in Oklahoma

McDonald’s is taking aggressive steps to improve its reputation, expanding their fresh beef test to 75 locations in Tulsa, Oklahoma, reports Nation’s Restaurant News. Each of those 75 locations will be making their Quarter Pounders with fresh beef, cooked to order. This will include the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Quarter Pounder Deluxe and Bacon Clubhouse Burger.

Earlier in the year, the burger giant began testing fresh beef patties at locations in Dallas. Nation’s Restaurant News says that their expansion to Tulsa indicated that McDonald’s is taking this strategy seriously. According to Nation’s Restaurant News’ annual Consumer Picks survey this year, McDonald’s finished close to last due to quality.

“These burgers are hotter and juicier than our previous quarter pound patties and are made with fresh, 100-percent North American beef that’s simply seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper,” McDonald’s chef Chad Schafer said in a statement.
