Taco Bell's new menu innovation has paid off in a big way. According to a recent article in Nation's Restaurant News, the brand's recently launched Nacho Fries have sold over 53 million orders in just five weeks. The success of the new item tops the previous favorite, Doritos Locos Tacos.

Nacho fries are seasoned fries that have been paired with a nacho dipping sauce. They are found on the brand's Dollar Cravings menu or can be added to a meal for only 49 cents. As a result of the item's popularity, it will remain on menus through April.

“We're seeing fries in one out of every three orders, compared to one out of every four for Doritos Locos Tacos,” said Matt Prince, spokesperson for the brand. If the momentum holds strong, the item is expected to surpass the record of 100 million orders sold within ten weeks that the Doritos Locos Tacos currently holds.
