According to a&nbsp;<a href="http://bit.ly/2HhIwJy?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=nations-restaurant-news-peyton-manning-sold-franchised-units-before-papa-johns-nfl-split-2705846" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="color:rgb(17, 85, 204)" target="_blank">recent article in Nation&#39;s Restaurant News</a>, prior to the split, former quarterback Peyton Manning sold his franchised locations. Manning said goodbye to these units just one day before the split.&nbsp;

&quot;After six successful and rewarding years, Peyton Manning and Papa John&rsquo;s International have sold their stake in 31 Papa John&rsquo;s locations, which were part of a joint-venture in the Denver Colo., market,&rdquo; the brand announced.

Despite selling the locations, Manning will remain a spokesperson for the brand. This continued support is part of the retired player&#39;s long-term agreement to serve as an ambassador for Papa John&#39;s. Manning initially signed on with the brand in 2012, and during that time became the owner of over 30 locations.

These locations will now be managed by an existing multi-unit Papa John&#39;s franchisee. The transition of ownership took place on February 26.&nbsp;
