Things are heating up in the restaurant industry. According to federal data cited by Nation’s Restaurant News, restaurant employment jumped significantly in October. However, a lot of that activity is picking up jobs from the previous month that were lost due to hurricane-related closures.

The restaurant industry added 88,500 jobs over the course of the month, bringing its total to 11.7 million across the country. That’s a strong improvement over the month before, when Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey cost the industry 98,000 jobs. However, the current number of restaurant jobs is about 10,000 below where it was two months ago.

The news of the restaurant industry’s growth comes as the overall U.S. economy added 261,000 jobs during October, with unemployment falling to 4.1 percent.
