Nation's Restaurant News: Starbucks scares up Zombie Frappuccino

This is the third Halloween themed Frappuccino that the brand has released since 2014.

Just in time for Halloween, Starbucks has launched a seasonal drink. According to a recent article in Nation's Restaurant News, the brand has released a limited edition Zombie Frappuccino. This is the third Halloween themed Frappuccino that the brand has released since 2014.

The drink consists of a caramel apple base, pink whipped cream intended to symbolize brains and a red mocha drizzle. It will be available through Halloween.

"When brainstorming a new Frappuccino flavor this Halloween, we started by thinking about a Halloween party and monster mash. We already invited Frankenstein and vampires to the party, so we came up with another monster that could join the bash," said Jennie Robinson of the beverage development team.

The release comes as part of the brand's strategy to target consumers on social media. Starbucks was successful in generating buzz on social platforms earlier this year with a similar limited edition launch called the Unicorn Frappuccino.
