Snapchat has announced that it will allow publishers to create their own &ldquo;Our Story&rdquo; highlights. <a href="https://mashable.com/article/snapchat-our-stories-partnerships/?utm_cid=hp-n-1&utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=new-snapchat-feature-will-give-publishers-access-to-user-generated-content-2707865#TPynfPyuRaq5" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="color:rgb(17, 85, 204); text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">&nbsp;According to a recent article in Mashable</a>, the new feature&nbsp;will allow users to submit their content to the&nbsp;public-story streams. The publishers&#39; stories will live in the Discover tab of the app, where all users will have access to watch them.

The new feature&nbsp;will allow publishers to harness Snapchat in a new way, by allowing them to showcase user snaps. The social media app hopes that the&nbsp;feature will allow companies to interact more meaningfully with their audience on the platform. 

A few of the initial organizations that have access to this feature include NBC, Vice, CNN and Cosmopolitan. If the test proves to be a success, the social media app may open it up to other companies. This will give brands both outside of and inside the franchise industry a new way to build a relationship with fans. 

The feature will also serve to help Snapchat bring in a profit, as the platform plans to allow for advertising on these story highlights. Franchise brands looking to target consumers on social media may want to consider taking advantage of this opportunity.
