There’s no doubt that “The Amazon Effect” is impacting the way that brands conduct their business. That’s why it’s no surprise that the retail and e-commerce giant was just named the world’s most valuable brand for 2018.

A recent article in Fox Business highlights Brand Finance’s new Global 500 report, which shows that Amazon’s brand value has jumped 42 percent over the past year to $150.8 billion. The brand’s first place ranking is also an improvement over last year—in 2017, Amazon was ranked third behind Google and Apple.

Amazon’s surge to the top of Brand Finance’s Global 500 list can help point franchise brands in the right direction. The retail giant is clearly connecting with consumers in a way that franchisors can learn from—whether it’s the importance of convenient and quick delivery services, having a strong online presence and app or making sure that there’s a greater value placed on customer service, brands can take Amazon’s lead in order to boost their bottom lines.
