When Liane Caruso started her own marketing agency in Tampa, Florida in 2009, she didn’t quite know the path her client base would take. As the agency grew, she found herself working in a niche with primarily franchise brands.
In the beginning years of her agency ownership, Caruso was looking to partner with a company that could also do PR for her clients, which is how she first came across No Limit Agency. Caruso connected with Senior Vice President Lauren Moorman and Chief Executive Officer Nick Powills. Little did she know, the story would come full circle, as she joined Moorman and Powills earlier this year (2019) on the 1851 Franchise Magazine team.
“Because of my history and experience working with franchise brands and working in digital marketing for franchise development, I have a unique perspective on being able to build strategic relationships with our clients and how 1851 can work for them,” Caruso said. “I have strong relationships in the industry and I understand digital marketing in the space of franchise development.”
In an ever-evolving industry, Caruso says that 1851 is a very forward-thinking publication at the forefront of technology and marketing.
“It’s only going to continue to grow and become more adaptable to meet the needs of our clients,” said Caruso. “Not only do we have to advance with technology and functionality, but we also listen to the needs of our client and as opportunities present themselves to continue to improve. We aren’t just staying on-trend, we’re staying ahead of it.”
It’s no secret that the landscape of franchising is changing to meet the needs of a new kind of consumer, and part of 1851’s mission is to maximize appeal to target audiences in an incredibly diverse industry.
“The content created on 1851, in tandem with the site’s enhanced data-tracking capabilities, is a perfect marriage of the two pillars of successful franchising: inspiring, real-world human-interest stories and technology-forward innovative marketing,” Caruso said. “1851 does things so differently than any other agency in our space, and that’s what drew me to No Limit in the first place. It’s very groundbreaking the way we marry public relations, digital and content marketing and do it in a very cutting-edge way.”
Over time, 1851’s reach has grown to a monthly readership of over 300,000 industry insiders, evolving to become one of franchising’s leading publications as well as a comprehensive content marketing and brand development solution for client’s of No Limit. 1851 functions as both a journalistic publication and a content marketing tool, where 1851’s content team creates original, SEO-rich long form stories about each unique brand’s road to success.
“Over the course of time since 1851 first launched, we learned more about what our clients needed, and we wanted it to continue to evolve with not only changes in the industry but functionality, more enhanced capabilities and better data tracking,” she said.
“We now have the ability to have a more robust dashboard that gives more data in real time which helps us and our clients make better marketing decisions. We can also help make better decisions in regards to integrated digital campaigns to pay-per-click, social media and SEO. We take content marketing to the next level.”
