Now A Private Company, Bojangles' Hires Two Former McDonald's Execs

After completing its sale to two private equity firms, the chicken chain taps Jose Armario as CEO and Brian Unger as COO.

Bojangles’ previously announced $593 million sale to New York-based private equity firms Durational Capital Management LP and The Jordan Company, L.P. was officially completed Monday, taking the chicken chain private. Its first order of business? Bolstering its leadership team.

According to an article in QSR Magazine, Charlotte, North Carolina-based Bojangles’ has added two former McDonald’s executives to its leadership team, hiring Jose Armario as CEO and Brian Unger as COO.

Both Armario and Unger have extensive restaurant industry backgrounds. Armario most recently served as executive VP of worldwide supply chain, development, and franchising at McDonald’s, with previous stops at Burger King and Luxottica Group. Unger, served as senior VP of operations at McDonald’s after stints with Einstein Noah Restaurants Group, Inc. and Long John Silver’s.
