The former Starbucks and Kate Spade executive is the latest in a series of high-profile hires for the burrito brand

Nation’s Restaurant News reports Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. has hired former Starbucks and Kate Spade executive Marissa Andrade as Chief Human Resources Officer. The newly created position will oversee the franchise’s HR department and encompass high-level duties including, “building the right structure and capabilities for sustained growth, and creating a culture of recognition and innovation throughout our company,” according to a statement from Brian Niccol, Chipotle’s recently installed CEO.

Andrada comes to Chipotle after serving as Kate Spade’s senior vice president of human resources and chief human resources officer. Before Kate Spade, Andrade held senior-level positions at Starbucks, Gamestop, Red Bull North America, Universal Studios and Pepsico/Pizza Hut.

“I'm thrilled to be joining the company as they look to strengthen the talent and the team in ways that will set the company up for success in the next chapter,” Andrade said in a statement released with the announcement of her hiring.

Andrada is the latest in a slate of high-level appointment, starting with Niccol’s hiring in early March. In mid-March, Nicole hired Chris Brandt as chief marketing officer.
