NRN: NPC Restructures, Names Steve Layt to Head Pizza Hut Division

The Wendy’s and Pizza Hut franchisee has split in two divisions and created new executive-level roles for each

NPC International has dramatically restructured its leadership, according to an article on Nation’s Restaurant News.

The largest domestic franchisee for both Wendy’s and Pizza Hut has separated its brand holdings into two divisions and established new board and CEO roles for each.

Previous CEO Jim Schwartz will transition into a chairman role, and previous CFO Troy Cook will become vice chairman of the company.  Steve Layt, a QSR-industry veteran who joined NPC in April, will step into a new president and CEO role for the company’s Pizza Hut division. The company has launched a search to fill the same role for its Wendy’s division.

“I am honored to be working alongside Jim and Troy and grateful for the strong foundation they have created for NPC’s brands over the last two decades,” Layt said in a statement.

Based in Overland Park, Kansas, NPC International currently operates roughly 1,600 restaurants.
