After seeing slow same-store growth in this year’s third quarter in North American stores, Papa John’s International Inc. has lowered its forecast this year. According to a recent Nation’s Restaurant News article, the company is now expecting same-store sales to increase by 1.5 percent in North America, which is down from the previously announced range of 2 to 4 percent. Expected earnings growth this year was also reduced to 3 to 7 percent.

While North American stores saw a same-store sales decrease, international markets saw a 5.3 percent increase and in addition, revenue and net income this quarter rose. Papa John’s currently operates 5,101 locations globally, with 3,441 stores in North America.
