It is unclear whether talks will resume as Papa John&#39;s continues to distance itself from Schnatter, who currently remains a board member with a 29 percent ownership stake in the company. Both sides declined to comment to <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2018/07/18/papajohnswendys.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=papa-johns-and-wendys-discussed-a-merger-and-stocks-are-climbing-2707197" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">CNBC</a>.
