Paris Baguette, the global bakery café franchise with over 4,000 locations around the world, is opening in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood. The new location, found at 532 5th Ave., is being opened by business partners Susana Wu, Donna Wu and Ryan Zhao, according to a recent What Now New York article. 

Susana was inspired to explore franchising during the pandemic when corporate job security became uncertain. Witnessing frequent layoffs and business closures, she decided to seek a more stable path. She reached out to her friend Ryan, who has experience in the restaurant industry, and later invited Donna to join them. They chose Paris Baguette for its high-quality products and long-term potential, especially in Park Slope, where they aim to serve local families.

The Park Slope location will be the 37th Paris Baguette in New York. The opening was initially planned for early 2025 but Susana says the franchisees hope to open by year’s end. 

Susana also hopes the partners can continue opening additional Paris Baguette locations in the years to come. “We would love to be serial franchisees and hopefully open one a year if possible,” she said. “So we’ll be in conversations with them and see what other markets are up for grabs.”

The new location is part of the franchise’s plan to reach 1,000 locations across the U.S. by 2030.
