DeNita Carani was recently named the brand president of Pet Wants in October. She joined the team with an extensive history of entrepreneurship and franchising. After selling her business and working for the corporation that bought it, she realized she was missing the small local business feel. So she set her sights on franchising and found a brand that fit her needs and interests at the time. With that brand, Carani went from owning one location to joining the leadership team for that brand. When the opportunity to join Pet Wants as the brand president presented itself, she couldn’t pass it up.

“When the opportunity to look at Pet Wants presented itself to me, what drew me to it was the passion of the brand,” Carani said. “I’ve been so fortunate in my career. I served the elderly and the disabled in the beginning of my career. I served families and children in the middle. And today, I get to serve pets and pet parents.”

As a former franchisee, Carani admired the support team and systems Pet Wants has in place for their owners. She wants to keep Pet Wants focused on providing support and education to its franchisees so they can become local experts on pet nutrition and find success in their markets. Carani is keeping in mind that the core of Pet Wants is pet health and nutrition. The brand was founded in 2010 by a pet parent that couldn't find solutions for her dogs. Carani’s goals for the brand as president are to continue expanding the product line to help even more pet owners.
