After almost 30 years spent as Papa John’s franchisees, Troy and Jennifer Post have stepped beyond pizza, selling their 11 Nebraska restaurants before turning to the pet nutrition industry with the Pet Wants franchise.
“It was a phenomenal journey,” Troy told Pet Age. “But we wanted a change — something different. Right away, the pet sector was where our hearts were pointing.”
The duo began researching and quickly began feeling confident about Pet Wants, but their interest in the brand was confirmed after experiencing the products firsthand. Pet Wants works to provide wholesome nutrition for pets that support long, happy lives, and this mission resonated with the Posts.
“We lost our beloved dog, Sadie, recently,” said Jennifer. “It was a turning point that really pushed us towards the pet business. Many people don’t realize how vitally important health and nutrition is for their pets. I genuinely believe that if we had known about Pet Wants food back then, Sadie might still be with us.”
Looking to their next journey in franchising, the Posts are excited about bringing Pet Wants to their community, and this is a great indicator of a bright future with the franchise.
“You have to be passionate in what you are selling — that is the only way you can expand to multiple units and be successful,” added Troy. “That is why we are excited to see where the future leads and we know it will be a great fit. We’re thrilled to be a part of the Pet Wants family. This is just the beginning.”
