Penn Station East Coast Subs is expanding in Western Pennsylvania.

According to an <a href="https://www.bizjournals.com/pittsburgh/news/2018/03/30/penn-station-east-coast-subs-plans-expansion.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=pittsburgh-business-times-penn-station-east-coast-subs-plans-to-triple-its-restaurants-in-western-pennsylvania-2706390" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">article in the Pittsburgh Business Times</a>, the grilled-sub brand is looking to leverage the success of its six existing franchise locations in the Greater Pittsburgh area to establish 12 additional locations by 2021.

Pittsburgh&rsquo;s first Penn Station opened 11 years ago in the Shadyside neighborhood. Since then, two franchisees have opened five more locations in the Greater Pittsburgh area, and according to Penn Station Director of Development and Franchising Gregg Goddard, that exposure has generated demand for many more.

&ldquo;The people of Pittsburgh have responded very favorably to our stores,&rdquo; said Goddard. &ldquo;We know that the demand is there to support more.&rdquo;

According to Goddard, the extensive development pipeline could create an estimated 240 new jobs and represent a $5 million investment in Pittsburgh and the surrounding suburbs.
