Pizza Guys Franchise Expands to San Diego

Leveraging momentum in neighboring markets, the California-based pizza franchise has announced new locations in the coastal city.

On the heels of a recent opening in Santa Clarita, specialty-pizza franchise Pizza Guys announced this week that they are planning to expand in San Diego. Despite — or perhaps because of — the coronavirus crisis, the franchise has been growing steadily in recent months, with a recent grand opening in Santa Clarita recording record sales.

While restaurants across the country have faced seemingly endless challenges throughout the pandemic, the Pizza Guys has thrived as a takeout and delivery concept. Like many dine-in restaurants, the franchise has made some key adjustments to its model to continue providing its services during stay-at-home orders.

From QSR:

“The success that Pizza Guys has seen during the pandemic is further proof of the strength that the delivery and takeout business model provides,” stated Shahpour Nejad, CEO and co-founder of Pizza Guys. “Not only have we continued operations throughout the pandemic, our brand has been thriving across the Pizza Guys network because we have been able to keep providing our customers with access to trustworthy and delicious food offerings. We are excited to announce our expansion in San Diego and look forward to partnering with local entrepreneurs looking to bring a proven and affordable business concept to their community.”

In addition to the recently opened Santa Clarita location, Pizza Guys currently has three other units throughout Southern California in Apple Valley, Victorville and Rancho Cucamonga. Nejad told QSR that the brand plans to bring up to 15 locations in San Diego, which he says would create roughly 200 new jobs.
