New York Times: Trump and Obama Hold Cordial 90-Minute Meeting in Oval Office

President Obama and president elect Donald J. Trump put aside their differences and publicly held a meeting in the Oval Office earlier today. <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/11/us/politics/white-house-transition-obama-trump.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=political-roundup-november-10-2016-7561" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration:none;" target="_blank">The New York Times reports</a> that &ldquo;it was an ordinary show of cordiality&rdquo;, considering how heated this election has been and how opposed Obama was to Trump&rsquo;s candidacy. 

&ldquo;I want to emphasize to you, Mr. President-elect, that we now are going to want to do everything we can to help you succeed because if you succeed, then the country succeeds,&rdquo; Mr. Obama told Mr. Trump as the two sat side-by-side after the roughly 90-minute meeting. The president called the session &ldquo;excellent&rdquo; and wide-ranging.

&ldquo;We discussed a lot of different situations, some wonderful and some difficulties. I very much look forward to dealing with the president in the future, including counsel,&rdquo; Mr. Trump said.

It also means that President Obama&rsquo;s nominee, Merrick Garland, for the open seat won&rsquo;t be confirmed by the Senate.

Yahoo Finance: The Most Important Lesson Investors Learn from the Election

CNN: Protesters Target Trump Buildings in Massive Street Rallies

Thousands of people protested Tuesday night&rsquo;s election results yesterday evening, gathering in at least 25 American cities. After one of the most divisive elections in recent history, many U.S. citizens are shocked by Trump&rsquo;s presidency. 

&ldquo;While most protesters were peaceful, dozens were arrested,&rdquo;<a href="http://www.cnn.com/2016/11/10/politics/election-results-reaction-streets/index.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=political-roundup-november-10-2016-7561" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> reports CNN</a>. &ldquo;At least three officers were wounded.
