Pollo Campero Joins Fast-Food Chicken Chains with Expansion Plans
Thanks to corporate success, Pollo Campero hopes to expand in Louisana with a determined franchisee.

Due to the success of its corporate location in New Orleans, Pollo Campero seeks to expand in Louisiana. According to an interview in New Orleans City Business, Director of Franchise Development Blas Escarcega hopes to sell the existing location to a franchisee who desires to expand Pollo Campero in the territory. The goal currently is to open up to seven locations in New Orleans and five in Baton Rouge, with the expectation that each location will generate approximately 40 jobs.
According to Escarcega, the desire to expand comes from the “success of the (Kenner) store, [which] has really allowed us to look at New Orleans. Our food really blends in well with the market.”
Pollo Campero seeks to bolster its footprint in Louisiana due to the Hispanic population growth in recent years, which appeals to Pollo Campero’s Central American heritage — but they also wish to expand their chicken-eating base overall. Escarcega is confident that, in the fast-casual chicken market, “there’s enough room for all of us.”
