Brent Berridge, a franchisee of the growing pool cleaning franchise, Pool Scouts, has been named a 2023 Franchisee of the Year by the International Franchise Association. Berridge was recently honored at the 63rd IFA Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada for being an outstanding franchise owner and operator.

Berridge, a veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps for four years as a Corporal, is the owner of the Sugar Land, Texas Pool Scouts franchise located in southwest Houston. Before opening his franchise, he worked at The Dow Chemical Company for roughly 20 years as a Turnaround Manager. On top of his love for his community’s quaint downtown scene, frequent festivals, and the Sugar Land Skeeters, Berridge says he especially enjoys being able to regularly serve his neighbors and their pools.

Recently, he was also welcomed into the Pool Scouts’ honorary “$1 Million Club” for earning $1 million or more in revenue throughout all of 2022. He credits his professional and military training to the success he’s had as a Pool Scouts owner.

“I am honored and I feel a sense of accomplishment in that my efforts don’t go unnoticed. I have worked very hard over the last five years to build our business and after a lot of challenges it’s always nice to receive recognition for your efforts,” Berridge said. “Even though I’m named a ‘Franchisee of the Year,’ it really isn’t about me. The success of the business is much more dependent on everyone in our team to deliver for our customers everyday. I of course work hard myself, and have to set the standards and expectations, but I can only take things so far. Our employees are the ones that are directly interacting with and making ‘fans’ of our customers.”
