Postmates Expands Service to 134 New Cities

The food-delivery service now reaches roughly sixty percent of the population, making it easier than ever for people to order their favorite restaurant dishes.

Postmates has announced that it will be bringing its service to a total of 134 new cities. According to a recent article in Fast Casual, the expansion marks the company’s expansion into over 550 cities across the nation. This equates to roughly 60 percent of the population.

"Unlike other on-demand services, Postmates sees the cities we operate in as our warehouses — by making every merchant and restaurant accessible through the Postmates app. Our mission is to support local communities through local people delivering goods from local merchants. In 2017, Postmates' fleet earned over $200 million in the U.S. and merchants on the Postmates platform generally see four times the growth in sales," said CEO Bastian Lehmann.

In order to further incentivize citizens of these new cities to use the app, Postmates is offering a deal on Chipotle orders. The first orders placed in these markets will be eligible for a $4 delivery discount. In order to redeem the deal, they will need to enter the code CHIPOTLE134 at checkout.
