Qdoba Expands, Signing 22 New Franchise Agreements

According to a recent article from Food Manufacturing, Qdoba — the second-largest Mexican fast-casual franchise in the U.S. — reported substantial growth in 2024. This marks 14 straight quarters of positive same-store sales, with a 7.7% comp sales increase over last year’s 6.3%. This growth included signing 22 new franchise agreements, increasing the pipeline to 450 committed new locations. 

In addition, 2024 saw significant franchise partnerships established between Qdoba and major operators, such as Thrive Restaurant Group for 30 new locations in the Carolinas and Q Eats LLC for 15 new locations in Houston, Texas. Additionally, Golden Maize Restaurants and Cafua Management will open multiple new locations across Pennsylvania and New York.

International expansion has also progressed, with new restaurants opened on U.S. military bases in Asia through its partnership with the Army & Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES). To incentivize franchise growth, Qdoba offered a $100,000 cash bonus for select new unit openings. 

While the brand’s expansion with new locations is impressive, Qdoba has not forgotten about its existing locations. Qdoba invested nearly $30 million in 2024 to remodel 80 existing locations, enhancing the guest experience with upgraded capacity and technology. The positive customer experience has been recognized by USA Today, which awarded Qdoba the "Best Fast Casual Restaurant" for the sixth consecutive year this year.
