QSR Magazine: Domino's Begins Testing Artificial Intelligence for Phone Orders

The brand hopes this new introduction will help streamline the ordering process for guests and employees.

Domino's has announced an innovative twist for its ordering process. According to a recent article in QSR Magazine, the brand is introducing voice recognition software to streamline orders placed over the phone. The application follows the brand's virtual assistant DOM, which was introduced in 2014.

"Artificial intelligence provides great learning platforms that will enable us to do more to deliver convenience for our customers and better job experiences for our team members. With DOM on the phones, our AnyWare ordering technology and plans we have for future in-store technology, our goal is to one day be 100 percent digital," said CEO J. Patrick Doyle.

By smoothing out the digital process, Domino's hopes to give employees more time to focus on preparing orders for customers. Eventually, the brand may even be able to reduce the number of people needed to operate the store at any given time.
