The bakery-café brand La Madeleine has a new franchising plan to double its size. According to a recent QSR Magazine article, the brand’s refranchising initiative will sell entire markets of existing restaurants to multi-unit operators of the brand and of other brands. Currently, the brand has more than 80 locations across the country and the markets that will be offered for franchising are Houston, Atlanta, Washington, D.C. and Louisiana.

“Our new growth strategy is unique because it offers multi-unit operators the opportunity to hit the ground running with whole markets and top-performing stores,” says La Madeleine president John Cahill. “With the staff already in place and positive cash flow from the restaurants, franchisees can start growing the brand right away."

The corporate restaurants will continue to operate in Dallas and new franchises will only be sold as whole markets and not individual stores.
