QSR Magazine: New York City’s Café D’Avignon Begins Franchising

The popular bakery and cafe will open its first franchise locations in Orlando

New York City bakery and cafe Café D’Avignon signed its first franchise deal this month, with an agreement to open five franchise units in the greater Orlando area. According to a recent article in QSR Magazine, the new locations will be owned by Alex Nikitin and Maxim Dreev, who plan to open the first two locations by the end of 2018. Café D’Avignon has partnered with franchise development company Fransmart to help shape and grow the new franchise concept.

Café D’Avignon currently operates three corporate-owned units in the Lower East Side, Midtown and Brooklyn, New York. The brand has made a name for itself among New Yorkers by offering a rotating assortment of fresh bread and pastries, shipped daily to all three locations from the Café D’Avignon’s bakery in Queens.

From the article:

“It’s very exciting for us to be the first partners with Café D’Avignon, and also the first to expand the concept outside of New York,” says Operating Franchisee Alex Nikitin. “In a time where the coffeehouse market is saturated with big players, we think Café D’Avignon fills a need for high-quality, handmade breads and pastries served alongside coffee that is equally as good. They’ve experienced decades of success in one of the toughest markets in the country, New York City, so we have no doubt that Café D’Avignon will find prosperity in Florida.”
