Fans will need to visit a Starbucks location to enjoy their favorite beverages.
Starbucks fans will now have to buy all of their favorite products in store. According to a recent article in QSR Magazine, the coffee giant has closed its online store and discontinued subscription programs.
The decision comes in part as a way to position Starbucks as a must-visit destination rather than just a retailer. The brand's syrups will no longer be available for purchase anywhere. Fans will need to visit a Starbucks location to enjoy their favorite beverages.
“Starbucks identified the coming seismic shift in retail years before it consumed the industry, and we are well positioned because we invested ahead of the curve to extend our global leadership around all things premium coffee and tea," said CEO Kevin Johnson.
