REGYMEN Fitness To Open First Alabama Studio in Huntsville

Fast-growing boutique fitness studio concept REGYMEN Fitness** is expanding its presence in the Southeastern U.S. to Alabama, with its first studio set to open at 2319 Memorial Parkway in Huntsville’s new Times Plaza development in late Fall 2019. 

Franchisees Jason and Anu Haynes are the husband-and-wife team behind REGYMEN’s entry into the state of Alabama. The duo was first introduced to the top-tier fitness brand through Jason’s son, Steven, who served as a head coach at REGYMEN’s Niceville, Florida studio. Steven’s passion for his work with the brand was evident from the moment he found REGYMEN, and Jason and Anu took notice.

“Steven is a very committed, hard worker and has always had visions of running his own gym,” said Anu. “We’re very business-minded and have always hoped to eventually open up our own business. We just thought this was the right thing to do for all of us.”

Knowing that opening a concept like REGYMEN Fitness with Steven would fulfill a lifelong dream for their family, Jason and Anu followed their entrepreneurial spirits and connected with brand founder Edward “EK” Navan to discuss bringing the unparalleled fitness program to Huntsville. The rest, as they say, is history. Jason and Anu will oversee the business while maintaining their full-time positions with the Department of Defense and Huntsville Hospital, respectively, while Steven will handle the day-to-day duties of the studio and serve as the face of REGYMEN Fitness in Huntsville.

As Huntsville residents for the last six years, the Haynes family is excited to bring REGYMEN’s top-tier customer service and creative fitness programs to their local community. They believe REGYMEN will be a perfect fit in the booming Huntsville market due to the city’s highly educated workforce, growing population and health-conscious mindset, all of which offer a strong marketing base for new businesses, particularly in the fitness space. 

Huntsville, often referred to as “Rocket City,” is home to a number of major defense firms that support multiple government and military organizations, including NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, United States Army Aviation and Missile Command center and the FBI. Combined with other major employers such as Remington and Polaris as well as the arrival of a new Mazda-Toyota manufacturing plant set to arrive in 2021, this growth makes the market an excellent area for REGYMEN’s exercise-science backed fitness experience to take hold. 

“The Huntsville metro area, including Madison, is bracing for what could potentially be dramatic growth in coming years,” said Jason. “The city is even investing $350 million in commercial development to prepare for the substantial influx of workers and families. Because of this, we wholeheartedly believe there is a tremendous opportunity and need for REGYMEN Fitness in Huntsville.”

According to Chief Operating Officer Nick Binnings, Huntsville is the first of multiple units planned for the state of Alabama. REGYMEN Fitness is also exploring opportunities in the Birmingham market and hopes to develop eight to 10 studios across the state as part of the brand’s continued expansion efforts.
