Anything is fair game in the increasingly competitive fast-food breakfast wars. Or, <a href="https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/about-us/franchising.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=report-mcdonalds-is-releasing-its-own-version-of-dunkins-donut-fries-2708783" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">McDonald&rsquo;s</a> thinks so, at least. 

McDonald&rsquo;s is adding Donut Sticks to its breakfast offering in February, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/mcdonalds-to-debut-donut-sticks-at-breakfast-2019-1?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=report-mcdonalds-is-releasing-its-own-version-of-dunkins-donut-fries-2708783" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">according to internal documents obtained by Business Insider</a>. The menu item very closely resembles the Donut Fries that <a href="http://www.dunkinfranchising.com/franchisee/en.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=report-mcdonalds-is-releasing-its-own-version-of-dunkins-donut-fries-2708783" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Dunkin&rsquo;</a> rolled out after <a href="https://1851franchise.com/nation-s-restaurant-news-dunkin-donuts-tests-donut-fries--2706208" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">a successful test last summer</a>, an LTO was a serious hit for the brand. 

The deep-fried sticks of dough coated in cinnamon sugar are the second national breakfast item McDonald&rsquo;s has launched in the last year after going more than a decade without adding a new breakfast menu item.
