Famous Toastery, a 25-plus unit better breakfast and lunch brand, has taken a step back from recruiting new franchisors and is focusing instead on making its current franchisors even more successful. 

“Selling franchises is very, very easy. Too easy,” CEO and founder Robert Maynard said in an interview with Restaurant Business. “Getting them to be successful is a whole other business. That’s why we took a step back.” 

Famous Toastery opened three locations as well as a ghost kitchen in 2020 and hopes to expand to 50 locations by 2024.
