Restaurant News: Pizza Hut Commits to Antibiotic-Free Chicken Ambition

Pizza Hut is extending their drive for antibiotic-free meat to their bone-in wings; transition to be complete by 2022

According to Nation's Restaurant News, Pizza Hut is set to fully phase out chicken raised with antibiotics from is supply chain by 2022. Currently, Pizza Hut services 7,500+ locations within the U.S. and supports wing sales through their sister brand, WingStreet, in every location.

Chief brand officer for Pizza Hut, Marianne Radley, announced the decision on June 20.

"The decision to no longer serve chicken raised with antibiotics by 2022 demonstrates our commitment to serve food that not only tastes great but that customers can feel good about eating," she said

The shift to antibiotic-free meats has become a popular movement within the fast-casual industry and consumers can expect to witness other restaurants to follow Pizza Hut’s lead.
