Restaurants Say Goodbye to Disposables and Hello to Reusables

Restaurants begin to turn anti-plastic as they put an eco-friendly foot forward.

Restaurants are now doing their part for the Earth as they transition into using reusable cups and containers, according to Nation’s Restaurant News.

Lawmakers are making it easier for restaurants to use reusable dishes when it comes to customers carrying out their food. The bill that recently passed in California allowing restaurants to use reusable cups and containers is now trending across the states.

The article explains how customers can check out and return reusable containers to take their food to-go rather than packaging it up in a plastic container or cup. While not every restaurant is hopping on board just yet, companies such as GO Box, Vessel Works and Ozzi are just a few who are leading the way to help restaurants move from disposable to reusable.

GO Box’s owner and CEO, Jocelyn Quarrell, “estimates the program has eliminated about 225,000 single-use disposables from the waste steam,” the article states.
